Golden Globe Foundation Helps Power a Summer of Free Live Music Across Los Angeles

From MacArthur Park to Warner Ranch Park, the Golden Globe Foundation is proud to support two of Los Angeles’ leading cultural institutions — Levitt LA and the Valley Cultural Foundation (VCF) — as they bring communities together through the power of free live entertainment.

Levitt LA has become a summer staple in historic MacArthur Park, presenting 30 in-person and livestreamed concerts and 10 pop-up performances across the city. Since 2007, the concert series has drawn more than 500,000 attendees and continues to reflect the cultural vibrancy of Los Angeles through a wide range of genres and artists. Free and all-ages, the series provides a welcoming space for Angelenos of all backgrounds, supports professional musicians, and brings consistent, positive energy to the heart of the city.

This Saturday, August 9, Levitt LA presents Afro Funke Africa, a dynamic evening of African rhythms and community spirit. The lineup includes Ghanaian band Wazumbians, DJs Blaq Pages and Novena Carmel, and a special performance by Africa in America featuring Kara Mack and DJ Jahneko. Hosted by Grammy-nominated artist Rocky Dawuni and produced by Cary Sullivan, the event is a shining example of the conscious, celebratory energy Levitt LA brings to the city.

Meanwhile, in the San Fernando Valley, the Valley Cultural Foundation has been fostering community connection through arts and culture since 1975. VCF’s Concerts on the Green and Movies at the Park provide free weekend entertainment from mid-June through August, including live music every Sunday and movie screenings on Saturday nights throughout August. Their July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza and events like North Hollywood Summer Nights and the Fall Festival in Burbank continue to engage diverse audiences across the region.

The Golden Globe Foundation is especially proud to support VCF’s Emerging Artists Program, which gives up-and-coming performers valuable opportunities to take the stage, build their audience, and grow in their craft. The program reflects a shared commitment to cultivating the next generation of artists and expanding access to the arts for all.

Together, Levitt LA and the Valley Cultural Foundation are creating unforgettable summer experiences while nurturing a more connected, inspired, and inclusive Los Angeles — and the Golden Globe Foundation is honored to help make it possible.
