1. Who we are
The Golden Globe Foundation (“GGF ”, “we”, “our” or “us”) is a California non-profit organization with a principal place of business located at 650 N Robertson Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90069. Our mission is to support underrepresented communities in Southern California seeking to thrive in the creative arts and journalism and to fund film preservation and free speech protections worldwide.
2. This Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us, so we’ve developed this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”), which explains how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you visit us at www.ggfdn.org (the “Site”). Please take a moment to read through this policy in its entirety. By accessing and using the Site, you consent to this Privacy Policy, including consent to our use and disclosure of personal information about you in the manner described in this Privacy Policy. In addition, you also agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of our Terms of Use.
Our Privacy Policy only applies to information collected on the Site and does not apply to information collected by other means. 3. Information We Collect
Information You Provide to Us. When you use our Site we collect personal information that your provide directly to us, such as when you subscribe to our newsletter, request additional information about our organization or apply for a grant, we, or our service providers (acting on our behalf), collect “personal information” (which is information that relates to an identifiable natural person) that you provide to us, such as your first and last name and email address.
Information We Collect from You Automatically. When you use the Site, we will also collect information about your use of the Site and the device you use to access the Site (e.g., your computer, tablet, phone, etc.) such as your IP address and country location, browser information (including browser type, capabilities, and language), operating system, the date and time you accessed the Site, and website usage information, including the paths taken as you move from one webpage to another webpage (i.e., your “click stream” activity).
Information from third parties. We may get information about you from third parties. For example, our vendors and business partners may give us information about you. Social media platforms may also give us information about you.
4. Our Legal Basis for Using Your Information – European and United Kingdom Specific Provision
We rely on the following grounds to collect and process any personal information you may have provided on our Site:
- Legitimate Business Interests: To notify you about any changes or updates to our Site.
- Providing You with Services. We need to use your personal information to perform our responsibilities under a contract we have with you (including, for example grant application).
- User Consent: If you are a user of our Site, you have supplied or we have collected your email address, and you provided consent, we may send you an email to tell you about our philanthropic efforts, impact and events, solicit your feedback, or keep you up to date with what’s going on with us.
5. Cookies and Other Technologies
GGF uses cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to automatically collect and record certain information from the computer, mobile phone, or other device you use to access the Site, including device identifier, technical information about your device, IP address, browser type, browser language, the webpages you request, location information, and the date and time of your request. When we use third-party tools, those third parties may also collect such information.
6. How We Use Your Information
We (and our service providers) will use your personal information for the following purposes:
- To provide the features and functionality of the Site to you.
- To process your newsletter subscription.
- To identify you as the sender of, and to process, your emails.
- To respond to questions and comments.
- For our internal operations, such as troubleshooting, data analysis, and testing.
- To protect our company, our website partners, and our business partners. We also may use this personal information to protect our services, as well as to detect and investigate activities that may be illegal or prohibited (such as cyber-attacks or fraudulent activities).

7. How We Share Your Information
We will share your personal information for the following purposes:
- Business transfers: If a third party acquires all or substantially all of our assets, your personal information, and any other information that we have collected in connection with the Site, will be transferred to such third party as part of our business assets. Also, if any bankruptcy or reorganization proceeding is brought by or against us, all such information will be considered part of our assets and may be sold or transferred to third parties.

For example, we will share your grant application with our consultants who assist us in evaluating applications and making recommendations to our employees, board of directors and members.
- Other Parties With Your Consent: We may share information with third parties when you consent to or direct such sharing.
8. Minors
The Sites are intended for use only by persons who are at least 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone whom we know to be under 18 years of age without permission from a parent or guardian. If you are under the age of 18, you may not use the Site unless your parent or guardian has provided us with their consent for your use of these Site.
9. Do Not Track
We do not currently take actions to respond to Do Not Track signals because a uniform technological standard has not yet been developed. We continue to review new technologies and may adopt a standard once one is created.
10. California Shine the Light
California residents are entitled once a year, free of charge, to request and obtain certain information regarding our disclosure, if any, of personally identifiable information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year (e.g., requests made in 2022 will receive information about 2021 sharing activities). At this time, we do not share personally identifiable information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. However, if we do so in the future, we will give you choices prior to sharing your information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. 11. International Transfers
Our operations are based in the United States. We process the personal information and other information related to you in the United States. If you are located in another jurisdiction, please know that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using this Site and providing us with your personal information, you consent to this transfer, processing and storage of your information in the United States. Please note that if you are accessing our Site from outside of the United States, the data protection laws in the United States may not be as comprehensive as the laws in your region.
12. Your Individual Rights & Choices
Please note that you always have the right to request that we:
- Provide you information about how we use your personal information;
- Give you access to, and a copy of your personal information we hold in our systems;
- Stop contacting you;
- Correct, update or delete your personal information in our records;
- Stop using, and ensure that all of our service providers stop using, some or all of your personal Information; or

Your personal information will not be kept for longer than is necessary for the specific purpose for which it was collected.
When we decide how long we will keep your information we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, why we need it, and any relevant legal requirements (such as legal retention and destruction periods).

Please be aware that when you are using the Sites, you could be directed via links or other means to third-party websites, content, and resources that are not affiliated with the Site or GGF.
