Walt Disney Studios’ Snow White kicks off screening series
The Golden Globe Foundation and the National Association of Theatre Owners California/Nevada (NATO), with support from Walt Disney Studios, have launched a new film series exclusively for first responders and their families. The series began on Saturday with a special screening of Snow White at Vidiots’ Eagle Theatre in Eagle Rock.
Created to honor the firefighters, police officers, and paramedics who responded to the devastating Southern California wildfires in January, the series offers first responders a chance to relax and reconnect with loved ones through the magic of movies. Upcoming screenings include Lilo & Stitch in May and Elio in June.

Snow White makes an appearance on the red carpet at Vidiots’ Eagle Theatre in Los Angeles, where wall art commemorates the Golden Globe Foundation’s support of the historic movie house.
“This initiative is our way of saying thank you in the way we know best—through film,” said Henry Arnaud, President of the Golden Globe Foundation. Arnaud, who reported from fire stations during the wildfires as part of his work as a journalist, spoke movingly about the compassion and endurance he witnessed. “All of the first responders I met—working without sleep, still welcoming and helping—were just amazing,” he said.
Vidiots, which reopened in 2023 after an extensive renovation, was proud to host the launch. “This movie theater and the video store next door would not exist without our friends at the Golden Globe Foundation and NATO,” said Maggie McKay, Executive Director of Vidiots. “And to our incredible firefighting families and first responder community—thank you. You keep us alive and well.”
