Event Date: April 26th - 4:30PM

Justice for My Sister marks a decade of empowering storytelling, media advocacy, and violence prevention with the 2nd Annual Justice for My People Film Festival, taking place Saturday, April 26 at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles.

This special evening celebrates the achievements of the nonprofit’s Workforce Development and Youth Leadership programs, spotlighting fiction and documentary films created by filmmakers of color. The event kicks off with a red carpet from 3:00–4:30 PM, followed by the opening of a timeline gallery exhibit at 4:15 PM, showcasing artifacts, photos, and videos chronicling the organization’s impactful journey.

Film screenings begin at 4:30 PM and continue through the evening, with each film block followed by a moderated panel led by Edwin Aléxis Gómez. Guests will also enjoy appearances by civil rights icon Dolores Huerta and acclaimed Chicana musician Irene Diaz.

The evening will also include the announcement of the finalists for the Short Film Launchpad—supporting the next generation of BIPOC filmmakers.

Join Justice for My Sister in celebrating 10 years of community-centered media and visionary storytelling.
