Cal State University Long Beach Films Shine At 34th Annual CSU Media Arts Festival

October 14, 2024

Golden Globe Foundation

CSU Summer Arts established the Media Arts Festival in 1991 to give talented students studying film, broadcasting, video, screenwriting, and new media within the 23-campus California State University system an opportunity to present their work for critical review.

A panel of distinguished faculty and industry leaders selects each year’s finalists and winners, and all finalist selections are screened at the festival. Cash prizes and the CSU Media Arts Festival Award are bestowed on award-winning works.

This year, California State University Long Beach films make up nearly 50% of the finalists. “The success of our students’ films is a direct result of the support from the Golden Globe Foundation,” said Sarah Len, Community Engagement Specialist at CSULB.

In addition to the Department of Cinematic Arts, students in the School of Art Animation program and one of the films from the CSULB Anthropology Program have also been named as finalists.

The winners of the 34th Annual CSU Media Arts Festival will be announced following the Awards Presentation on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Noon.
