CSSSA is delighted to announce that the online application for the 2024 summer session is live.

For teens who love to create, California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA) welcomes 500+ high school students each summer to celebrate and explore the arts. CSSSA is a CA State program that makes the arts affordable and accessible during this month-long, immersive experience. It is a pre-professional program where students earn up to 3 college credits and become part of a community of artists that they take with them for life.

CSSSA’s Diverse Community
Our upcoming session will take place July 6 to August 2 at The California Institute of the Arts, located in Valencia California. Students come from across the entire state for this intensive arts experience. CSSSA’s mission is to reflect the diverse cultural heritage of California through the student body, faculty, and curriculum.

CSSSA + Opportunity
Many CSSSA students receive significant funding to attend the program through scholarships provided by the CSSSA Foundation and generous donors. Scholarships are need-based. Several hundred full scholarships are given each year, and all are encouraged to apply.

CSSSA’s 7 Arts Disciplines
CSSSA offers programs in Animation, Dance, Film, Music, Theater, Visual Arts, and Writing. Many students work together in cross-disciplinary collaborations. Students also attend workshops and masterclasses by world-renowned artists. Students are immersed in creativity 24/7.
