FilmAid Kenya has unveiled a new Media Hub at the Ifo Refugee Camp in Dadaab, Kenya. This hub provides a dedicated space for alumni to develop creative projects, access technical resources, and further refine their storytelling skills. It will serve as a vital resource for graduates of FilmAid’s training program, helping them stay connected and produce high-quality content that authentically represents their communities.
As FilmAid continues its comprehensive Media Training Program, it will welcome a new cohort of aspiring creatives from Dadaab and Kakuma, as well as their host communities.

FilmAid has used the magic of cinema to support marginalized communities for 25 years, starting with screenings to address psycho-social needs of those fleeing the Kosovo War in 1999. Shortly after, FilmAid discovered the true power of storytelling lies with local filmmakers. By investing in their voices, we unlock potential and bring hope, and resilience to those facing forced displacement, climate disasters, health emergencies and other crises.
The Golden Globe Foundation’s partnership with FilmAid Kenya began in 2002. Our 2024-25 grant supports the continuation of FilmAid Kenya’s INUKA program, providing refugee and host community youth in Kakuma and Dadaab Refugee Complexes with a 9-month training program, a fall film festival, and ongoing media and entrepreneurship initiatives.
