This past weekend, the Levitt Pavilion at MacArthur Park came alive as La Resistencia brought their powerful ska sound to the stage for Levitt LA’s free summer concert series. Hundreds gathered on the lawn for a night that defied fear and celebrated resilience, as music, pride, and people power reclaimed one of Los Angeles’ most historic public spaces.
The atmosphere was electric — a reminder of how live music can transform a community gathering into a powerful expression of joy and solidarity. With high-energy ska-core rhythms, La Resistencia united the audience in a set that embodied resistance and joy. They were joined by LXS COCHINXS, a trans lesbian band from Los Angeles known for their genre-blurring sound. The event was documented by filmmakers David R. Hernandez, and OCHO OJOS, ensuring that the impact of the night will continue to inspire beyond the park.

The Golden Globe Foundation is proud to support Levitt LA, whose mission is to make live music accessible to all, connect communities, and celebrate the diversity of Los Angeles. Each summer, more than 60,000 people attend Levitt LA concerts at MacArthur Park, where emerging talent and award-winning artists share the stage. With over half a million people reached since 2007, Levitt LA has become a cornerstone of free cultural programming in the city, uniting audiences through music while supporting the livelihood of professional musicians.
From the heart of MacArthur Park to international audiences via livestream, Levitt LA concerts bring consistent, positive energy to Los Angeles — creating safe, welcoming, and inspiring spaces where music reminds us of our shared humanity.
