Meher Tatna Addresses CSUDH Graduates at 2026 Commencement Ceremony

Meher Tatna delivered the commencement address at California State University, Dominguez Hills’ College of Arts & Humanities and College of Education commencement ceremony on May 15, 2026, held at the Dignity Health Sports Park Tennis Stadium in Carson.

Tatna, who previously served as president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, was recognized for her longstanding support of the organization’s charitable efforts, including work connected to the HFPA’s Charitable Trust, the predecessor to the Golden Globe Foundation. During her remarks, she encouraged graduates to do what they love, show up, hold their space, be kind, and enjoy the journey.

Representing the Golden Globe Foundation at the ceremony were CEO Gregory P. Goeckner and Director of Multimedia Jason Little, who spent time with Susan Addleman, Director of Development (CBAPP & CAH), and several Golden Globe Foundation fellows from the university’s Film, Television & Media program.

Among the students in attendance were Lorely Colchero, Class of 2027, who shared how participating in the Golden Globe Foundation Professional Mentorship Program has helped her build professional skills for film set environments while developing her work in screenwriting, directing, and creative producing; Kolby Hill, Class of 2027 and recipient of the Golden Globe Foundation Creative Promise Fellowship, who spoke about his interests in photography, cinematography, and screenwriting, including his fellowship project, a spec script for the television series “Abbott Elementary”; and Wendy Ruiz, Class of 2027 and recipient of the Golden Globe Foundation Screenwriting Promise Fellowship and participant in the Golden Globe Foundation Professional Mentorship Program, who shared how her fellowship experiences have expanded her understanding of storytelling and creative development while continuing to shape her work in screenwriting, directing, and production.
